OEM Remote locking install in a MK4

Initially my car had no remote locking, nor power windows. The car came with a 1C0 962 258 J central locking module, which I replaced by a 1C0 962 258 G + some wiring to get OEM remote locking functionality.

Replacement module

If your car currently has a 1C0 962 258 J central locking module, you can replace it by one of the following modules:

Possibly work too:

Remote

I am currently unsure which remote belongs with the replacement modules. I went to my local locksmith which had a bunch of different remotes, and I tried which one would pair with my module. Unforunately this key does not have any description on it to tell me which type it is.

So my recommendation is either: Get the keyfob from the car that the replacement module came from, or try a bunch of keys at your local locksmith or junkyard.

Wiring

The existing green and gray connector plug into the new module directly, and everything will work as it used to. The new modules has one additional 15-pin connector which fits the beige plug pictured on the left below.

The functions of the pins on this connector (T15) are:

T15/10--Antenna

Antenna specifications

Use a coaxial wire, like RG174 for the antenna wire. The shield of the wire needs to be removed for the last 17.3cm of the wire. Attach the shield to T15/7, and the core to T15/10.
